ChessKings has launched its MVP beta, and it's available to download in the App Store today. It's the first platform that brings competitive, real-money chess to players across the country.
Built on Lucra, ChessKings gives players a place to play and compete for cash with Lucra’s infrastructure running underneath the experience. The beta is live for iOS players now, and the team is already building toward wider access.
Android is next. ChessKings is in development to expand onto Android devices this fall, opening the experience to every chess player who wants to compete, regardless of what they carry in their pocket.
Also this fall, ChessKings launches phase one of Lucra’s tournaments product. Chess clubs and peer groups anywhere in the country will be able to create cash tournaments with real-time results and settlement built in. It turns any club, any group of friends, any local rivalry into a live competitive event with stakes that settle on the spot.
For a game defined by its competitive core, it's a natural fit. ChessKings is taking the format chess players already love and infusing it with modern gameplay.
The beta is live now. Download ChessKings in the App Store to play, and visit chesskings.com for the latest on Android availability and the fall tournament launch.
